This is me:

In short:

I was born in The Hague, Holland in ’73.

This is my story:

Story:

Son of an industrial tool salesman and a loving mother with a background in the flower industry. Together with my three-year younger sister I grew up along a very average path up until I started a study of industrial design engineering at the Technical University of Delft. Moving to Delft opened up a world of opportunity, which lead to me starting my first company in 1996. Ripple Design (name for sale…:) main client was an event company that pioneered Large Sand Sculpting experiences in Holland and around the globe. It would prepare me to deal with the process and beauty of temporary art& entertainment. That in combination with a 12,5 year slow cooking study of the Industrial Design Process, has lead to a deep appreciation of the FUZZY FRONT END of DESIGN. Where thinking is transformed in to doing and Ideas become driving concepts for future businesses and development. I started a “Visual Thinking” company called JAM in 2004 and sold it exactly 10 years later. With my last clients I built the Event Design Collective (www.edco.global) which brought me to the College of extra-ordinairy experiences in Poland. This is where I met Jens Heitland with whom I am now starting some to Applied Innovation Adventures

This is what I am all about

I learn by making what I hear visible and connecting it along the way. This allows me to ask the questions I need to create visual storylines. My clients typically need to explain, convey or change something “complex”. I engage with them to tune and refine their thinking into relatable and inspirational visual storylines that align a

diverse set of stakeholders on many different levels. I like the puzzle better than the people and the chase better than the catch!

This is my dream customer:

My dream customer has a problem they are willing to explore and pick apart, BEFORE they start to think about solutions. Designing from a storified foundation, connected to a sustainable future through a visual path.

This is my business:

I take my time to figure out how something seemingly complicated can be translated into relatable storylines. I take my clients on a journey of discovery and definition to find the logic and emotion of their company and make those come together in the connecting moments that are needed to motivate, inspire and align people to

achieve great things! I love people that are working hard on something nobody understands… This is where I hope to create value by visually lubricating their growth processes. I have done so for governments, commercial entities, NGO’s and inspirational groups of individuals.
